Help with rough ride
I’ve had my fair share of issues with the car over the last 2.5 years and 65k kms, love when it drives well but frustrated when it doesn’t. Hoping someone might have a similar experience and can suggest a fix.
2024 GT Turbo (Canada)
Issues experienced:
- sunroof has been replaced, had to bring it back twice to resolve other rattles with it.
- Weatherstripping around 2 doors has been replaced as they came loose and wouldn’t seat properly
- Have replaced stock tires with Michelin CC2 after 3 flats on stock
- A couple red clips at rear of headliner have come off and need warranty. Have fixed it for now. Issue was prior and after this part came loose.
Ongoing issues: Very rough ride over bumps. Causing dash and front area to creak and move and sounds from back of car. Mostly from passenger side.
Attempts:
- silicone lubricant applied to all gaskets including sunroof.
- Foam in areas of headliner where it feels loose. Experimented with different spots all over to diagnose.
- Adjusted tire pressure a few times to experiment
- Adjusted hood bumpers
- Tightened roof racks
- Searched for anything obviously loose
- Happens when it’s both cold and hot out.
Every once in a while the noise, vibrations and harshness disappear for a few days and the car drives wonderfully. Most recently I had 2 flawless weeks of driving. Then the annoyances return without reason and it rides harsh again. It’s this inconsistency that is most frustrating, when the car drives well it feels amazing.
Mazda has driven it a few times and claim it drives fine, but it clearly doesn’t as there’s a huge difference between when it’s harsh and when it’s smooth.
Has anyone experienced this and can offer a solution? Right now I’m at the end of my patience and likely going to trade it in for something else.
