After Uni thoughts [21M] [21F]
I (21M) and my gf (21F) have been dating for about 2 1/2 years. We are currently both finished 3rd year university in North America and wondering what we should do with our relationship as there will be a distance for us once we graduate and start working.
I’m a Japanese international and Ive been accepted to a big consulting firm in Japan and have plans on working there/living there for the foreseeable future.
My gf on the other hand does not have a job offer yet but is planning to move back and work in Hong Kong. I doubt she will have a lot of trouble finding work in there as her degree is good and she has had a good bit of internship experience there. (Accounting)
We have had summers with distance as well as time off from school to chill/live with no obligation to do anything, (kind of?) not worried about the fact we can’t do short periods of distance or living together.
Neither of us can speak our home countries language and would have difficulty adjusting to each other’s country.
We both want to work for the early part in our 20’s but would be open to be relocating to each other’s country later.
My concern is with both of us being so busy the relationship may not hold and I have worries that we will be wasting a great deal of our early 20s for possibly a relationship which may not hold. Is the distance sustainable? It would be like one living in Cali and other in NY
If i could get thoughts/stories about people who have gone through similar problems and how it has ended it would be much appreciated!
