Hey all,

I've been browsing marketplace and I found a 2013 Beetle in my area that looks to be in good shape, except it needs an engine. Seller says he believes it jumped timing. It's a 2013 2.0 turbo with a 6 speed. I don't know much about these cars but have always had a thing for them.

Anyways, guy is asking 1,200. Figure I could talk him down more since it's been up a bit. I'm thinking if I could get it for a grand or less and spend a weekend dropping a new engine into it with some friends it could be a good way to get a little weekend car. Does anybody have any input/suggestions/advice for this? Bad idea? Possibilities of swapping other engines into it? Just looking to see what people think.
