Relocation

Hello! I am researching different area in South Carolina. I am interested in relocating in about a year. I am from a very small farming town in the Midwest. So I have no idea what I'm looking for in terms of city vs small town. I am a Christian so I do want to live in an area that has a strong Christian community. I have no family or friend in SC but I need a change of scenery. I am single with no kids. What are some areas that I should be researching? I have a background in customer service, but no college degree. I do have some physical limitations when it comes to jobs. This is somewhat the reason for move. I want to be somewhere warmer. How is the job market? Easy to find work or is it a tough market. What areas should I look at in terms of flooding and hurricanes. I don't think I want to live right on the coast, but I want to be within driving distance of the beach and the mountains. I think I want to rent for a while to get a feel of the area before locking into one town with a house. If you have any tips on finding rentals that are affordable for single income, and pet friendly. I have a dog that is 25 pounds. Thank You!
