Teacher Retention payment dates / Qualifying

I wasnt too happy at the start of the window in October they let us know it was going to be March this year (probably due to them paying in December last year and then people leaving before summer). But it feels like they are really dragging this window out, i got my approval on the 15th April with them saying that the next email will be within six weeks which will be the breakdown of payment and date its going in. Has anyone had theirs yet?

Also its worth checking if you moved from High School to FE or vice versa. Ive been teaching 10 years but qualify for the payments because i moved from high school to FE 3 years ago. so it counts as your first 5 years in FE regardless of my time in High School. I didn't think i was eligible until i read it fully and got a £6k payment December last year. So if you have moved either way within the last 5 years its worth applying!

Why is vaping seen as more and more acceptable among young people?

I’m a teacher and saw my first vape in class when a year 9 had a puff of white smoke come off from under their blazer at the back of class. Mum was furious, student embarrassed. Fast forward a few years and now I teach in a college. Students are forever trying to charge vapes, trying to unplug pcs, most trying to use the USB slot on their laptop to charge their vape. Constantly being told about vaping inside. I’ve seen now out in the local area people vaping inside places. Is this something that is just being ignored? There’s vape shops everywhere, one either side of the college. Seems like something that is just acceptable among young people now.

Wondering how this is in professional environments and workplaces? I’ve seen more than a few adults in restaurants and cafes just vaping.

Do we not need more education around risk, addiction, cost etc.

Hi I’m an old school eBay seller that stopped doing any reselling on there a few years ago after being stung by eBay’s policies. I had not sold on there for a while but my account was 15 years old and had 400 positive feedback, they held my money for weeks made me jump through so many hoops, most annoying being that they wouldn’t send me my money for an item until I received feedback from the buyer saying it was all good! And verifying my bank account with them. Took about a month as the buyer didn’t use his account often and I said I wouldn’t use them again.

Anyway, I’ve been a buyer on Vinted for a bit now so I’m used to the way that it works but I do have a few decently branded clothes I’d rather sell than just get rid of. Are there any silly Vinted rules that prevent money being sent? I presume listing etc is step by step so I’m wondering more around payment etc, is it a set date every month similar to eBay or per item? Any tips!? Are promoting items worth it etc, I’ve seen people can buy multiple items for postage discounts etc is it worth promoting? Thank for reading!

From playing many medieval games and watching many films and tv series I’m always amazed at how fast poison works. Someone drinks from a goblet and then dies after a slight choke, why would you want it to happen that fast, surely the culprit would be found faster as they know what was used drink/food etc. I’ve always wondered what if it didn’t work! YouTube series I listen to about period history mention it only very briefly, just as a way of assassination. But not that common. Was poison something that common or just dramatised in film and tv. Logic tells me it would be so unreliable.
