There’s this wild squirrel that’s been coming to me for about a year now. I step outside yesterday and he’s laying in the ground dead. I liked him a lot and since this is an apartment complex someone will have to move him. I fear he’s going to a trash can and I don’t want that for him. He was pretty cool. I can’t dig anywhere but genuinely don’t know what to do. My current move is to toss him over the fence into the woods but I’d have to launch him.

Btw I’ve never dealt with an animal death in the slightest before this so anything helps really.

*Update*

I found the perfect spot, I walked along the fence area and at the end there was a slit to get through accessing the alley which was further away, all grass with some tall grass for privacy, it’s similar to his initial resting place. Said a few words and walked off. I felt like I was overreacting at first but I think he would prefer this as well.
