I just installed a pair of TMR joysticks on my xbox series x controller, its the first time i've swaped joysticks so i wouldnt be surprised if i did something wrong, but im confused.
After installing them i checked and it seemed mostly fine, no spots were touching each other (tho i might have burned some spots a little, not sure if it was actually damaged but it does look darker), and it was holding together.
I proceded to connect the controller to my xbox to test, and to my surprise it worked perfectly fine, just out of curiosity i connected it to my laptop to check it on game pad tester, and again it worked perfectly fine. Once again i connected it to my xbox, calibrated it just to be safe, launched a game, played a bit and everything seemed fine, then i looked away for a few minutes as i was answering some dms, and when i looked back i had a massive drift going up, so much so that even when moving the stick down it would still register as if it was moving up. I havent been able to fix it since.
So i dont know what happened, if i did something wrong during the swap, wouldnt it fail from the beggining? Any tips as to how to fix it or what to look for? Im a total noob when it comes to electronics, but i cant really afford buying new controllers, and plus i wanna learn how to fix them myself.
