As per the title; I’m looking for some advice on my options with the baseboard registers in our home. I’ll be honest in that I know nothing of the forced air systems here (coming from Scotland) and I’m looking for options.
We bought a house which retains some period (1909) features and the previous owner had the renovation team retain the old registers. Whilst this is applaudable, the execution isn’t great and it doesn’t allow us to regulate the air flow and the system is all out of balance. Some rooms get a lot of air flow and others barely anything. My kids rooms are either too hot in winter or too cold in summer!
I’d like to replace / redo some of the registers to allow some adjustability to the air flow. Before I get a professional in I’d like to know what options I may have in replacement to get the system working better.
Apologies if I have some of the terminology wrong - I’m used to radiators and copper pipes everywhere.
