What the heck happened with CX756?

Home airport is Chicago (ORD). I used to be able to fly BKK->HKG->ORD via CX756 and CX806. Now, there is no same day direct flight like this. It’s been replaced with cx700 which is conveniently somehow departing and arriving a few minutes too “late” for CX806. Now, you have to fly to LA or Dallas which is way more expensive. not only that, but now Cathay is saying the flight from BKK->HKG takes 3 hours when on my itinerary from last year it says 2 hours 50 minutes. Are they scamming/lying? what’s the point of getting rid of this direct path? there’s lots of Chicago people who use this route… I’m pi$$ed

UPDATE: Called Cathay customer service to be a big boy, and even the customer service guy said that both CX756 and CX700 are the same A330 plane. He also had no explanation for the difference in flight time and why there is no direct flight anymore. He did mention in oxtober, CX756 goes back to production. Thank gosh!

let’s just say that I am pretty well off and have some fancy stuff. one of my close friends is a complete larper and will take pictures with my car, try to take pictures of his car in front of my house and post on social media or just keep asking me to have a party at my house for girls. I’m pretty sure he also took a pic of my car for his dating app profile. How do i deal with this ? I want to be friends and it’s fun to hang out with him, but whenever it comes to the larping it’s cringy and I’ve started to stop telling him stuff whenever I do things that could encourage larping. The main issue really is that most people my age (mid 20’s) don’t have a lot of money yet (early careers, student debt) so it’s hard to find people who are a similar income as me. Thanks.

it’s pretty simple really. people don’t have kids because of fear their parents will get mad / shame them. If there was a culture of not demonizing Gen Z’s having kids, people would have children. It’s not about money or feminism or microplastics I don’t know what made Gen X so anti-children for their own kids but it’s really hurting western and Asian countries. Thanks Gen X!

Are Gen X Helicopter Parents ?

my parents are Gen X and growing up I always felt like they were even more extreme than other Gen X’s but even most of my friends had parents that were on top of them for sports, school etc. I’m in my 20’s now and my parents still kind of treat me like I’m a high schooler. they get nervous when I travel alone and go out places. They still want to see my location. They would probably be pissed if I had a kid. they tell me not to go here/there because it’s dangerous and still plan family trips like we’re all teenagers still. what gives ?

I keep seeing people say that boomers work so hard and deserve their wealth and are great innocent people. In my experience, boomers abandoned their kids, squandered the wealth that was given to them and then now refuse to retire and act stingy about giving money to children. on the flip side, Gen X seems to put more effort into taking care of their kids and not just leaving them outside to endanger themselves and then telling them screw off when they need help. It’s almost like Gen X knows they got screwed so bad and at least make an effort to fix some things. Why is it that Gen X are more mature than boomers?
