I got this tattoo a few months ago while traveling in India. This is the second tattoo I got from the artist, we got along great so he offered to do it for me as a gift. The second slide shows the original design I was shown. I didn’t recognize any issues with the original design, but he changed some things last minute and added shading during the tattoo I didn’t see beforehand. I’m really concerned the final result could be misinterpreted as a certain symbol from WWII. I know this geometry dates back thousands of years and is used in India in a completely different context, however I can’t get over the similarity and it’s become a huge source of anxiety for me. Also the tattoo healed like shit (my fault) as the cherry on top. I do really enjoy the design but once I saw the resemblance I just can’t unsee it. No one I’ve shown in-person has said anything about it so I wanted some objective opinions here.
Is it really a problem? Or have I just been overthinking it?
