I’m posting this because our entire friend group is in shock. My best friend lets call him jhon comes from a very wealthy family, we’re talking multiple cars, family properties, and a very comfortable lifestyle. He never actually had girlfriend before.

Then he met Lets call her Lisa 30F on tinder

Lisa is a Russian national who moved to our country recently. They have been dating for exactly four months.

In that tiny window of time, she has managed to:

Isolate him:

After one dinner where we (his friend group of life) were incredibly welcoming, to her, later the dinner she told him we were "rude" and demanded he stop seeing us.

Destroied his confidence: Jhon used to be a self-assured, happy guy. Now, he’s a shell. He’s lost all self-respect and seems to operate entirely under her thumb.

She refuses to use anything but Telegram to talk to him. No public social media footprint. Total digital dark mode.

Even though it’s only been 4 months, he is already actively searching for an engagement ring. She is pushing for marriage hard and she’s doing it right now.

Jhons parents are not stupid. They saw through her. They have given him a final ultimatum: If he marries this girl, they are clawing back everything.

They will sell the cars he drives, kick him out of the family home, and cut off every cent of his funding. He will go from a life of luxury to having absolutely nothing. But jhon still chooses her.

Jhon is blinded. He thinks this is a "true love vs. the world" story. We are convinced she is a gold digger who realized he’s wealthy and is trying to lock him into a marriage before the "mask" slips. But if he marries her, there won't even be any gold left to dig because his parents will disown him. Also very likely outome is visa/citizenship benefit.

We’ve tried giving him facts, we’ve tried showing him the red flags, but he refuses to listen. How do you stop a 1blindless ?

Is there any way to make a guy see he’s being played for his bank account before he loses his family forever?

We all have bills and life stuff to pay for, but when it comes to planning for a live show, are you cool with using some of your savings?

For me, if I want to see them live, I have to travel, and that costs a lot. Luckily, I went to their show in Poland last year, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. When they announced the Istanbul show, I was 100% in, but as it gets closer, I'm getting hesitant because of the cost.

I just wanted to know for anyone else in my situation, how did it turn out? Did you end up going?
