Hey i3 fam,
Got a weird one for the hive mind. My 2018 LCI (BEV) has developed this super annoying metallic "chirping" or "zipper" sound coming from the rear right side whenever I hit a certain type of bumps not big ones, usually the small ones where the car shakes more. It comes up often on bad roads on good quality roads i can never hear it. Might be important that I have 20 inch wheels.
The Sound: Literally sounds like a metal zipper handle vibrating like crazy against something. It’s high-pitched and very mechanical. I could describe it as a medium loud metallic chirping noise.
Is it interior noise or a suspension? I could swear it’s coming from the interior not from the suspension but I’m not sure…
Appreciate any tips or "been there, fixed that" stories!
