I have this scene in mind that I feel I’ve seen in a movie - but which one?

a lawyer is being intimidated by the mafia to drop her case, and one day an unknown man “gifts” a bullet to her young son. does that sound familiar to anyone? I can’t remember which film that was, or if I invented it
