Please help me find my new color: From red to low maintenance
I would appreciate your input on my situation which is wanting to go from salon dyed red hair to a more low maintenance color closer to my natural color also keeping it a little extra (my ash brown hair bores me sometimes…) . Low cost and no full or hard bleach. Please help me what to ask from a professional. I would also appreciate DIY options for the transition.
My problem is that the lenght of my hair is dyed to a darker shade in a very different color than my natural hair. I would like a gradual transition.
I attached pictures of some of my previous hair colors and added an ❌ if I don’t like them and a ✅ if I lean towards them and 🟡 if it’s so-so.
🩷My priorities:
- I want something that is low maintenance and closer to my natural color
- It’s still hard to let go of the red so I would be happy to see some red/pink or some other extra color in my hair (maybe it’s the opposite of my first priority…)
-I don’t want my full hair to be bleached, especially not at home (no experience) I may agree to some highlights. I would like a gradual transition.
🩷 I just realized that warm shades does not fit me at all.
🩷My budget: I can afford going to the salon 3-4 times a year not more often.
I would like to DIY most of the time or full time (since we talk about maintenance).
History of hair:
-I have a faded red permanent dye on my hair,
-It was never bleached,
-Was dyed several times different kinds of permanent reds by hairdresser,
- I also used henna and semi permanent dyes, always some shade of copper or red,
- 7 months ago my hair was dyed a darker purple-ish red and it made my hair darker than my natural color. Since then it was dyed with shades of copper-red,
-Currently I have cca 2 cm outgrown roots.
