Rejected from SUTD, got invited to appeal — but CBSE results may come after the deadline. What should I do?
Hi everyone
I’m an Indian CBSE student and I recently got rejected from SUTD. After emailing the admissions office, they replied saying I’m allowed to submit an appeal between 8 May and 22 May if I have significant new academic or personal information that wasn’t available during my original application.
The main issue is that when I applied, my Class 12 CBSE board results had not been released yet. I’m expecting strong results and honestly feel they would represent my academic profile much better.
However, CBSE results are only tentatively expected around the 3rd week of May, and there’s a possibility they could get delayed even further, which might be after the SUTD appeal deadline.
I’m also from a smaller town, so I didn’t really have the same exposure, opportunities, olympiads , counselling, etc. Even then, I tried to make the most of what was available to me and SUTD genuinely remains one of my top choices.
I wanted to ask:
- Has anyone here successfully appealed to SUTD after a rejection?
- Should I submit the appeal first and mention that my CBSE results are still pending?
- If results come after 22 May, is there any chance SUTD would still consider them?
- Would predicted marks, school recommendations, or additional achievements help strengthen the appeal?
- Any advice on what I should do next?
Would really appreciate any guidance from people familiar with SUTD or Singapore admissions in general. Thanks!
