SUTD unexpected outcome

I just got rejected from sutd without even being interviewed. For reference I have got 94.75%in my ISC class 12 and I have some national level ecs and nice essays. I’m my opinion, there was more or less nothing that could be a problem. What do you guys think and should I appeal.

Anyone still struggling to find an internship in SG?

Hello all! We're a group of TP alumni who just released something we figured we'd share here. During internship season, we noticed a pretty big gap in how students find internships.

Every semester, its the same routine. Jump between Glassdoor, LinkedIn, JobStreet, MyCareersFuture, or whatever other job sites you bookmarked. Half the job listings are already expired, you spend more time searching than actually applying.

What we brainstormed is a tool that can pool all the listings from every major Singapore job portal into one single feed. Updates itself every hour in the background. Eliminate the need of jumping through 10 different websites, access to fresh out the oven job listings, all in one place.

It has been a few weeks since we've officially launched, but we've been getting some good traction. Ngee Ann Polytechnic listed us on their careers page https://oic.np.edu.sg/vacation-internship and we're looking to further our outreach to help even more students struggling to find internships. 😊

Everything's free! But if you do check it out, would love to hear what you think!

SUTD’s recognition, employability and higher studies

Seriously considering SUTD over one of the Big 3.

Is SUTD’s strong software and design/ AI focus enough to balance its weaker global name and recognition. Does employers really value this?

Do SUTD graduates face problems like keyword filtering or brand bias when they apply for jobs in big companies inside or outside Singapore.

Are SUTD degrees less chosen by top international graduate schools compared to older and more established universities, making higher studies abroad more difficult.

Any other key considerations apart from the interest/ goals etc.,

sutd scholarship

Okay so in my admission application I said I didn't want a scholarship (cuz I didn't think think I cld get one) but during my interview the lady asked if I was still considering one and I said sure. but my offer letter came without any scholarship... I haven't accepted the offer yet tho, is there any way I can try to apply for scholarship before/after I accept the offer? like before I join my first sem?

SUTD INTERVIEW RANT

I genuinely don’t know whether to laugh, cry, or just sleep for 14 hours after my SUTD interview 😭

First of all, my interview slot was at 1:30 PM. They admitted me at 1:45 and then immediately told me to hurry because we only had around 20 minutes left. So from the START I was already stressed and mentally thrown off.

Then they rapid-fired everything together:
“Tell us about yourself.”
“Why architecture?”
“Why SUTD?”
“Share your portfolio.” THEY ASKED ALL THESE QUESTIONS TOGETHER AND THEN EXPECTED ME TO ANSWER EVERYTHING TOGETHER.

also,

PORTFOLIO??????

NOBODY TOLD ME THEY WOULD ASK TO SEE IT LIVE 😭

And the funniest part is that I technically DO have creative work, but not a proper polished architecture portfolio. So I was scrambling trying to show random things while simultaneously explaining that most of my work is conceptual/artistic rather than architectural.

THEN they asked if I had software experience. I said yes, AutoCAD from my furniture design internship. Then they asked me to SHOW the work from the internship.

BRO.

THE FILES WEREN’T EVEN ON MY COMPUTER.

And because a lot of the designs were collaborative/reference-based work from the studio, I said I didn’t feel comfortable presenting them as fully original work. Then one interviewer kind of lightly chastised me and went:
“We don’t expect geniuses.”

WHICH MADE ME FEEL EVEN MORE FLUSTERED 😭

So then I panicked and said I could send the work later through email.

THEN they asked where else I applied and I said NUS, and then they asked:
“Why NUS and why SUTD?”

I answered the SUTD part well actually, but my brain FULLY short-circuited afterward and I literally asked:
“Do you want to know why NUS or just why SUTD?”

LIKE GIRL WHAT 😭😭😭

And now I’m sitting here replaying every sentence I said.

The worst part is I actually CARE about SUTD and ASD a lot, so now, naturally, my brain has decided this was the worst interview conducted in human history.

Conditional offer at Sutd ?

Hi! I’m an international applicant from India and I recently gave the SUTD interview after clearing the UEE. I wanted to ask seniors/current students who are applying , about how conditional offers usually work at SUTD.

Do they generally just require you to pass your final board examinations, or do they sometimes give conditions like maintaining 90–95% overall or certain subject-wise marks (especially in Math or Physics)?

I’ve heard that strict conditions are more common for scholarships, but for regular admission they usually don’t impose conditions. How true is that?

I’m honestly quite scared because I think my final board marks may drop significantly from my predicted scores — probably around 10–15%. Since there are already multiple filters like the UEE and interview process, I was wondering how much the final board results matter after reaching this stage.

Would really appreciate if any seniors, especially Indian students, could share their experience. Thank you!

Been 2 weeks

Hello. I had my interview on 29th of April. I’ve seen people getting their reply after 7-8 days or so but I have not received any emails which is making me hella nervous. SUTD is one of my top priorities so I can’t even sleep well every night thinking about
what if I don’t get in. Should I email them?

Can you still get rejected after the interview? Has anyone who interviewed on 29th April heard back yet?

EDIT: I got in yayyyy🎉

SUTD interview date might clash with SIT offer deadline

Hi guys, SUTD just got back to me for a conversation interview, but the earliest available date is 22nd May.

At the same time, ive also received an offer from SIT, and the acceptance deadline is 25th May.

m not really sure how i should proceed with this situation. do i accept the SIT offer first while waiting for the SUTD outcome, or is there a better way to handle it?

architecture bachelors

hey guys sorry this might be a long one but i just have a few questions hopefully fellow applicants/current students/alumnis could please help me out!!

i applied for ASD and honestly my gpa is not that high and i'm quite surprised i got an email a few days ago saying i was "selected for a conversation with SUTD about my application"

(for context my gpa is under 3.3, and i did an interior architecture diploma in temasek poly),

  1. what should i expect during the "conversation"? is it actually a conversation or is this an interview?

  2. the email also states, "Before your conversation, you will solve a set of technical problems designed to assess your logical reasoning and your approach to applying mathematical concepts." do you think it affects my chances if i do the math questions wrong? (i have not touched math in forever as a design student lmao)

  3. you guys can be blunt but what are ur honest opinions about my chances of getting in?

  4. also if i get rejected afterwards will i get an email or will it just be radio silence..

thank you so so much if you guys read through and answered i really appreciate the help!! all the best to everyone else applying too :)

No response entirely.

Hi, I am a local student. I applied on 2nd march.

Since then, I have entirely not heard back. No interview call, no rejection, nothing. And because appeals have now opened, i’m growing super concerned.

What does this mean? Does it really mean that my application is still processing as it says or am I waitlisted or already rejected with no possibility of appealing…

Can someone please advise.

What does this mean? Got offered Dai but this was mentioned. Does it mean my offer is conditional

Btw I’m in ns, so if I don’t pass this in 2028, then my offer will be revoked? Thanks

Hi guys! So I got an offer letter from SUTD with a 100% scholarship just today, but I have a doubt. So basically, I am an Indian who applied. Hence, I am also writing some indian entrance exams, and there is this one exam which, if I clear the cutoffs, I will get into a very good programme. Now I just had a doubt that if in case I get there, can I withdraw from SUTD?

Hi, I'm an incoming Trailblazers Scholar for the CSD program. Is SUTD more generous with scholarships? I see a lot of scholarship recipients and am curious to know how many awards they give out.

Let me know in the comments the course you applied for, the scholarship you received, and your qualifications. Local or international.

Application response

Hi, Im one of the many applicants who was ghosted by sutd before deciding to contact them. After which, I managed to get an interview invite without the maths/physics qns. Currently still waiting for my application outcome. I saw many people in the same position as me and I am not sure what steps to take moving forward. Would it be wise to contact them again to enquire about my application status? Its been 2 weeks since my interview and my interviewer was relatively nice and super chill. I didn’t feel like I messed up. Also, does getting invited for an interview without the math/physics qn mean a higher chance of being admitted? I’d appreciate any response and personal experience(s). I am worried that they will forget to review my application again.
