Weird neighbor has a distressed squirrel caged in their garden?
Live in London and noticed a squirrel is caged in our (slightly odd) neighbors garden. I noticed because the squirrel is super distressed and banging around in the cage.
Anything we can do to intervene with this? I assume it's not a pet - I can't quite see but I think they may have trapped it.
We have sent a message literally saying "Just to let you know there's a squirrel caged in your garden, not sure if that cage was meant for a squirrel?"

EDIT 2: The situation came to a head as we messaged the neighbors (who are in cornwall by the way, what the fuck?). They apologised and said their neighbor will "deal with it", we then pressed and said "are you planning on releasing it?", to which they then admitted "yes".
So neighbor comes round and releases it but he RESETS THE TRAP and says on the phone "Hopefully the neighbors won't notice next time". 🤣
What the fuck is this all about, some squirrel killing cult??
