Suing for medical negligence

Hi all, just wondering would I potentially be able to sue for something like this.

I broke a few bones in my right hand in a crash in 2023. Was put in a splint and sent away for 6 weeks came back for the check up was told my wrist was fine. It never felt fully right, months later I went to a&e in Ireland thinking I had broken it again with the pain, they did an xray and told me it was fine nothing wrong even though I explained I had pain, numbness and weakness in my right hand. I then moved to Australia and same thing happened here. I then went to a specialist a few weeks ago and he has found the issue. He was surprised it was ignored and that I was told I was fine, I now need surgery that’s costing nearly $10,000 and the recovery is nearly 5 months with me having to take time off work.

Would I be able to sue a public hospital in Ireland and would it be worth my while ??
Thank you !!!
