Good evening. A few weeks ago, I connected a 60Hz monitor alongside my main 240Hz monitor. Apparently, when I’m gaming, the frame rate suddenly drops from 240fps to 180fps or 135fps (mostly 135fps) and seems to be capped (I’ve attached videos from League of Legends and Counter-Strike). Sometimes, when I open the game, it starts at a capped 135fps, but other times I’m playing at 240fps and after a while it drops to 135 or 180.
Yesterday, for example, I had OBS running on my second monitor; I was streaming and playing LoL. Every time I joined a LoL match, it was at 135fps and I had to change the resolution to get the 240fps back. and every time I minimised the game, I had to go through this process again. In other words, I join a match at 135fps at 1920x1080, switch to a different resolution to get back to 240fps, and then switch back to 1920x1080. It’s very strange, to be honest.
Obviously, when I unplug the monitor, I have no issues; the problem only occurs when gaming. I can use Google or Visual Studio Code on the second monitor without any problems.
I’ve tried updating drivers, disabling full-screen optimisations, and a few other things, but nothing has worked.
Does this mean my graphics card can’t handle the load? If not, how can I fix this? Thanks in advance.
