Hi everyone,
I’m running a Mark 7 Apex 10 for 9mm, but I’m struggling to get the smooth "flow" I was expecting. The stroke feels way too stiff and rough during the sizing stage.
I’ve already tried:
• Various sizing dies (multiple brands).
• Consistent use of case lube.
Despite this, the resistance is still bothering me. I’m starting to think the issue is the brass itself, specifically the lower part of the case that sizing dies don't always reach easily.
My question: Would you recommend roll sizing my brass with a dedicated machine (like a Rollsizer.com or similar) before putting it into the Apex 10?
For those who made the switch to roll sizing:
- Did it significantly reduce the force needed on the downstroke of the press?
- Does the press run noticeably "smoother" when the brass has been roll sized beforehand?
- Is it worth the investment for 9mm, or should I keep looking at my die setup?
I’m looking for that effortless high-volume experience, and right now the friction is holding me back. I'd love to hear your experiences!
