I want to know if my landlord is allowed to do this.
At the beginning, I was paying my apartment rent on time. Later, I started paying a little late because of some financial problems, but I was still paying. I also informed them that I would pay the remaining amount, and they gave me some time. They never warned me about taking any serious action. The problem is that they keep turning off my AC even though I have been paying my SEWA bill properly and on time. Sometimes they switch it back on, and other times they turn it off again, which honestly feels like they are trying to make us suffer. The owner tells the watchman to say that the AC is “not working” and that we need to repair it, but I don’t understand how that makes sense when they dont control or own the electricity and the AC keeps randomly turning on and off. I know I have had some rent payment delays, but it’s not like I stopped paying completely. I’m still paying whatever I can. I just want to know if they are legally allowed to do this.
