You can use enclosures to make utility poles.

You must place the wires first otherwise you get an error. However, once the wires are up, you can place solid blocks through them; and they will still work.

The surface light also makes a decent street light on an enclosure painted black or white.

They also work on the backside!

I'm really proud of how this turned out! The exterior is based on Shinjuku station.
