I am planning on going to a mechanic soon, but I wanted to reach out here and ask if others have maybe experienced this same thing. I’m not the best at explaining car things as I’m newer to owning a car so please bear with me. My car has been making a really deep hum when I go 60mph. It stops at 59MPH and 61MPH. The pitch doesn’t change. I let someone drive my car and I sat in the passenger seat, which made me discover the noise is coming from the back. Fast forward to now, if I go to 2,000 rpm to accelerate, it makes the noise quickly and then goes away. So like, goes up to 30mph, makes nose and goes away. Continues to climb to 40mph, makes the noise and goes away. I feel the noise is getting louder now too. It’s such a quick noise but the pitch is the same everytime it happens at any speed.
It’s such a weird issue, I cannot find anything similar to what I’m experiencing. My only thought is wheel bearings or maybe my rear differential?? There is no scraping, hissing or clunking sounds. It’s only the deep hum.
My car is a 2017 Toyota rav4 LE 2.5 liter 4 cylinder engine
