Hi everyone! My situation is a bit complicated, but my mother was cremated and then buried in a cemetery in Brooklyn, New York. My parents divorced when I was little, her father is now dead, and only her mother lives, and her former partner now has a new partner, more or less making me next of kin. Today I found out she was buried with her abusive father, and I've since then moved to the Netherlands, I'd like to take her urn that was buried and take it back with me home. She does not deserve to be buried with her abusive parents, and it pains me to no end, especially when her own birthday was gotten wrong on her headstone. Please let me know what I can do to make this happen, what documents are needed, and anything else of that nature, thank you so much!
