I realized being “low maintenance” made people appreciate me less.
I used to think asking for nothing made me easier to love.
I rarely complained, always adjusted, always said “it’s okay” even when it wasn’t. I thought being understanding all the time would make people value me more.
But honestly, I noticed the opposite happened. People got used to me accepting the bare minimum because I never made a big deal out of anything.
Now I’m learning that communicating your needs doesn’t make you difficult. Staying silent all the time just makes people assume you don’t have any.
