Hi all, FTM here having so much trouble deciding what sleeping arrangement would make night time breastfeeding smoother in baby’s first few months. Would love to hear from experienced moms!
We were about to buy the Snuzpod 5 because it has a lot of convenient features: easy zip down side, wheels, mesh, good size, storage, rocking, height adjustability, etc. But then I realized it’s made with plywood and foam that could off-gas. The Newton bassinet and bedside sleeper seems like a good alternative, but zipping looks annoying (and I’m thinking I’d want to re-zip after each feed and not actually co-sleep). We were also considering the Halo Swivel but are turned off by the potential off-gassing and stubbing toes problem. I also like the idea of wheels to move it from room to room or at least to push it out of the way to use the bathroom.
These tradeoffs made me wonder if the zip/push down side is really even a feature worth focusing on? I am imagining that with these bassinets, I would roll over, zip/push down the side, pull baby out to nurse in bed, and then put baby back and re-zip or pass off to hubby for diaper change. Versus with a mini crib, I’d have to fully sit up and reach over or get out of bed every time I need to nurse, making it harder to go back to sleep. Though the mini cribs are attractive for the better materials and conversion to full size crib like the Newton nest.
(We already have an overnight sleep safe bassinet with our stroller and a play yard with no bassinet insert, so we figured our travel needs are covered there).
Given this, what sleeping arrangement/product would you recommend? I know every situation is different, but curious as to what you found helpful! Thanks!
