I'm sure this has been asked but the search feature was only returning threads about working out.

My consultation is next week. My work is chill so I know the time off and work from home request will go through, but I'm still split on what to tell them. Just saying "surgery" seems like milking sympathy since I'm not sick, but I don't really want to be spreading my business since not everyone gets it. What did you guys tell your work?

[Edit] thanks for all the responses! I think I'll tell my regular coworkers but keep it at "preventative surgery" for corporate.
