I think Randall is probably between 22–24 years old and may have a military background.
Here’s why:
* He’s extremely comfortable handling firearms and carries a rifle like someone already trained. * His reactions under pressure feel tactical rather than impulsive. * He constantly tries to control situations and stays hyper-aware of threats. * His haircut/body language/aggressive confidence give off ex-military vibes. * He interacts with Boyd differently than most characters do — almost like he recognizes and challenges another authority figure with similar experience.
The age range also makes sense to me because he still acts emotionally immature at times, but also seems like someone who’s already lived through serious stress before arriving in town.
If he enlisted around 18, a short military service before the events of the show could fit perfectly.
I also think this could connect to why he handles the ruins and Julie’s situation better than most people.
