I have a P226 Legion DA/SA and I'm looking to improve the DA pull. I love the stock SRT reset and SA pull, but found the DA pull too heavy.

I installed the GG custom strut w/ 19# hammer spring, along with the ELS hybrid trigger. I'm happy with the weight reduction, and it is buttery smooth, breaking closer to 7 lbs.

The only issue is I can't quite get used to the longer travel and starting position of the ELS DA pull. In SA, there is quite a bit of side to side trigger play too that I find annoying.

For context, I also have a P239 SAS and its factory DA is perfect to me, smooth and breaking at about 9 lbs, but easy to control/predict. It might partially be due to the shorter trigger reach on that gun that I enjoy it.

  1. Do you guys recommend any other triggers or spring kits to improve the DA pull without relying on the GG ELS? I am considering switching back to the stock GG P-SAIT trigger and trigger bar that came with my gun, the Sig short reach trigger, or the Armory Craft slightly curved trigger. I like the GG custom strut and will leave that in.
  2. Do many of you change out the sear spring? My GG kit also came with the competition sear spring, but from what I understand, that mainly improves the SA pull. This gun is primarily for range fun and home defense, so I've held off on changing out the sear spring.
