Haven’t had a good old fashioned monster rampage in a while…

I’m talking a classic talisman dropping, bell ringing, “aren’t you gonna let me in” night of carnage. I think we’re overdue. It’s been a minute since the monsters have had any real impact on the show.

Beginner Poetry Writing Class (Follow-up)

Hi All,

This post is meant for locals who do not already enjoy poetry. What makes you hesitant to take a poetry writing class? Is there a goal or result that would make you more likely to attend?

A few weeks ago I put out a call to see if anyone would be interested in a beginner poetry writing class. I'm currently putting together an hour-long lesson with activities, but I want to know what are some questions or impressions you have about writing poetry that you would like a teacher to address?

TIA

Edit: Ok I have two pet peeves, the second is “Are you ok?” every ten minutes. NO, MAN.

It’s not about all the unexplained stuff that’s being dragged out. It’s not about how annoying Elgin and Acosta are. I can live with those.

What’s driving me crazy is how often a character will start ranting and then they stutter or stop themselves mid sent-

It’s like dialogue that goes nowh-

It’s like the writers want a cheap way of creating ten-

Every show/movie does this a little, but they do it so damn much on this show, especially Boyd and Kenny. I can’t unhear it.

Just trying gauge interest in poetry writing in the valley. I’d love to host an hour-long adult workshop just for beginners. It might be a tough sell because there are a lot of misconceptions about poetry, and it could take some outreach just to convince people to care about poetry.

I could market it as a date night idea, a self-improvement activity, or just something fun for the community. We could meet outside on a nice day, or at the library. If that goes well, I’d also like to do a child and teen class.

I am an educator and published poet, and believe poetry is a form of mental/emotional exercise that everyone should practice. There are a lot of misconceptions and negative connotations about poetry that come from what we learn in school. I’d like to help break down those perceived barriers.
