So I went to Kia (California) yesterday & negotiated price of used car for 5 hours, we finally came to deal of base price being $18.5k & OTD around $21k with warranty. But then we were taken to the financial advisor where we discussed that deal, again we stated that we agreed to the original offer with the dealer, manager, etc.
He ended up pulling a quick one on us & added a $600 bogus theft protection add on & $4500 warranty fee (mind you the car has 68k miles, the warranty will only last until 100k). Also the manager I had talked to stated the $21k figure including warranty/fees so I do not get this upcharge. Not once were these two add ons communicated with us, we thought we were signing for original deal like we told him. We couldn't even catch this as he shoved the electrionic signing on his ipad in our face which took up the entire screen and kept telling us to sign.
The one thing that may be in my favor is that I have not taken possession of the car. Would it be possible to review these add ons, or in worst case scenario unwind the deal?
I understand it can very well be my fault for not reading the contract fully, this is my first time buying a car. My family were trusting in them as they are loyal kia owners & they all had been given the three day grace period to cancel the deal. I guess im just unlucky as this was not included with mine, my brother even got the same car used as well with LOWER miles (same dealership) with OTD price being $18k. I simply dont understand. Is my only hope the fact I havent taken it off the lot?
