Indoor storage

I recently replaced my bike after it was stolen right out of my back yard. I'd like to store it indoors to avoid it happening again, but our family of 5 lives in a fairly small house with no garage. We have a shed, which is technically an option, but knowing my family they wouldn't remember to lock it... I have this unused space that leads to the basement, and I'm wondering if I can utilize it for bike storage. What would be the best way to do that? My initial thought was vertically, maybe one of those mounts that pivot. Any other recommendations?

I bought a bike last fall with the intention of commuting to work and running errands close to home. I used it for about 6 weeks before it got cold and I put it away for the winter. I got it back out in mid-March, rode it to work a couple of times before it was stolen out of my backyard.

I was finally able to replace it, and I'm super stoked! I got this 2015 Giant Escape 3 for $100! It needed handlebar grips, and some minor adjustments to the brakes, but other than that it's in really good shape. After adding a headlight/taillight I'll be good to go. Cheers!

Does anyone have starters they'd be willing to part with?

My wife planted a bunch of seeds that sprouted, and they all died after being left outside overnight. She was devastated, and with money being tight we can't really afford starters.

We'd be happy to pay it forward with fresh veggies when they're ready, and we already have a bunch of garlic and shallots growing in the garden! We also have chickens and ducks, so we could trade for fresh eggs!
