Negative feelings in classical music.

I am currently starting to focus on emotions in music, and how to create them.

So I want to ask, which segment of music (from any work, and if you can pinpoint it in a score, please do so.) do you connect with one or more of the following:

•    structures of frustration,

•    isolation,

•    negation,

•    dissolution,

•    claustrophobia,

•    psychological erosion.

For example the last movement of Prokofievs Piano Concerto no. 2 for me, is an example of psychological erosion (or even claustrophobia), to me it is a depiction of a panic attack.
You can see in the score, the different instrument moving in different directions in a very fast speed. Or progression in a fast speed in very small and close intervals. Try listening to it and tell me what you think.

A compact analysis of Berg's Wozzeck.

So on listening to to Berg's Wozzeck again, i would love to get a thorough analysis of the opera, with harmonic analysis or the like, in really trying to understand the piece, and one which major techniques and principles Berg used (besides the obvious dodecaphonic influences).
I dont care if it is a a long book or if it is academically complex. Any advice is good 😄

Score: Bernd Alois Zimmermann - Requiem für einen jungen Dichter.

Does anyone know, where i can buy a suitable size score of Zimmermann's - Requiem für einen jungen Dichter?
In my country (Denmark) there is only one copy in a library in the entire country, and that is a 1,5m x 1m copy in the Royal Library in Copenhagen.

Does anyone know if there exist other version?
Thanks in advance

Woyzeck (1979) by Werner Herzog. Soundtrack

I just watched Herzog's 1979 marvelous rendition of Bücner's play.
But does anyone know, who composed the "Langsamer Polka" used in the beginning of the movie? The only information i can find, is something to do with czech folk music. But nothing else.

Ostinatos in classical music.

So hit me up with the famous or even lesser known ostinatos in classical music.
We of course know Ravel Bolero, Shostakovich 7th march and Bartók Intermezzo interrotto from Concerto for Orchestra.
Any other you can think of?

I just finished reading this wonderful book.
I read in another thread, that there was a long extensive introduction to the book, which is found in the oxford edition.
Does anyone have access to this introduction? and want to share it?

I have just finished reading “The Death of Ivan Ilyich” by Tolstoy. And it is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I was really fascinated by the depiction of humans that (for example) gets rid of friends and family members because they don’t “suit their class”. Where pity and compassion serve as a cover for personal interests. Especially in the book >!the look on a “dear work colleague” death as a means to get his position at the firm.!<

As I can understand this book is written in the naturalistic/Realistic style a movement that objectively depicts heredity, environment and instincts, often with pessimistic portrayals of society’s dark side, decay and base instincts.

Can anyone recommend books written in the same style and tone. Of course, I know about Dostoevsky, but anything else I have missed? Claccis, lesser-known writers, modern writers.
And please, also, tell me why you choose these recommendations.
