Context: 2025 Manila Marathon (42k) Age category winners get a guaranteed slot to enter 2026 Sydney Marathon(basically you get to bypass the lottery and qualifying times).
I’ve already decided not to go since Runrio only sent me this email today and I’ve already been waiting since August last year in order to start processing everything (di naman kasi ako paldo so I really need to plan my arrangements months in advance) - in short, give up na ako kakahintay kasi di din uso kay rio magreply sa email and things only get more expensive as you get closer to race day.
From what I know, nasa 15k~ registration fee ni Syndey Marathon if you register directly through them(assuming you qualify and all that). Runrio is asking 685 aud(30k~) for the registration fee which is crazy; mas mura pa registration fee if you'll enter through a tour agency(26k).
I just don’t understand the appeal to offer a guaranteed slot through age category performance if mas mahal lang din pala kesa sa tour agency na babayaran mo lang with no need to perform sa local event.
