To start, I'm a hopeful agnostic. I don't worship or believe in a God or gods, but I definitely hope there's something more after this life. My elderly cat died a year and a half ago. I've had a few dreams about him since then, but I always wake up super fast because I remember that he's dead and that makes me realize I'm in a dream.
So a couple nights ago, I was crying about it pretty hard, and I asked that if there was a god or gods, that they let me have a dream of him where I don't wake up immediately, but allow me to be aware of him while I'm in it.
Last night, in the middle of some random dream that I couldn't even describe to you, I saw him, and we both looked at each other, and I realized I wasn't waking up. I hugged him and cried, and he purred so loudly. I actually got to be there with him, and when I woke up, I felt really comforted. And then I remembered I'd asked for that, and now I'm wondering if it was just my brain manifesting what I really wanted, or if someone actually answered my little prayer. I really hope it was the second thing.
