I'm South Asian background, have very dense hair but fine strands which are very dry, high porosity and probably 2b wave/curl pattern. If I wash and dry my hair without styling product sand then brush it, it is a COMICALLY large poof-ball.
I feel like I've tried every possible styling product to combat frizz (e.g. dream coat then blow dry, leave in then gel cast then scrunch out etc.) and nothing seems to work as well as just taking several pumps of squalane oil and massaging then brushing through from the ROOTS to the ends. Despite doing this it doesn't look greasy or weighed down - it just finally looks like a "normal" amount of hair on my head, rather than looking huge and fluffy.
Does anyone else do this? I haven't found a single tutorial or chat thread where people talk about using more than just a couple of drops of oil.
ps. I have tried the curly girl method but I have a terrible wave/curl pattern which really doesn't suit me. Part of this approach of using oil is to try and avoid heat-styling so that hopefully the curl pattern improves over time as virgin hair grows out...
