Hey y’all, I have a detached garage with a flat roof and vinyl floor deck over top.
We’re converting the garage into a conditioned space with a mini-split being installed, and would like to insulate the ceiling.
I understand “cold-roof” would be the appropriate method for this.
Does my drawing here make sense?

We’re considering getting a Heat Pump installed with a slim duct system set up in our attic. (located in the PNW)
I’ve heard mixed reviews about setting this up in the attic, but the primary concern is vermiculite.
It’s not pure vermiculite, but rather disparate pieces of it throughout grey insulation (doesn’t look like very much). This is all fully covered by another layer of pink fiberglass insulation.
The guys installing want to have one of the available runs pumping air into the attic itself, to help control the temperature slightly. I guess the thought process is that this will help the air handler run more efficiently… Makes sense (maybe not), but the concern for me is if this air movement in the attic would have any chance of disturbing the vermiculite.
Is this a bad idea?
