The other day I received an offer for a pair of pants I was selling on EBay. The offer was for $25. In the email I clicked accept offer and it went through.

The next morning I paid for shipping (from the funds that eBay charged the buyer) and shipped the item.

About an hour later I receive a message from the buyer stating that their offer was for “no shipping charge” she claims she did this on other purchases.

I don’t know how that could happen since, I don’t believe there’s a way to alter the shipping or price when accepting an offer. I just click the button and it charges the buyer.

I went into the offer on eBay and sure enough, the offer was for $25, but with a note for no shipping. I would have never accepted the offer (which, after eating a $6.57 shipping charge) would have come out to about $13.50.

So now the buyer is asking for a return/refund.

My question to this community:

A) are the notes in an offer binding?
B) how would you proceed?
