Vet just told me to get any "weight management" food.

We're about to bring home a 12 year old golden retriever we inherited after a family member passed. She's on science diet large breed, but was apparently also getting McDonald's hamburgers and who knows what else, so she was 10-15lbs overweight most of her life and now has quite a few fatty tumors.

She has 5-7lbs left to lose now. I've been reading lots of threads but I would love to hear stories about what works for other people's senior dogs. My last dog lived to 15 but had crazy allergies so we were very limited in the options for him, and now I'm overwhelmed.

Thank you in advance!

We're inheriting a nearly 12 year old golden retriever and she comes home in 2 weeks. She's over 75lbs.

We just lost our 15 year old aussie mix in January and I was used to picking him up to put him in the car, which was already tough enough at his 45lbs. I'm not sure I'll be able to lift 75lbs of golden.

I've seen dog ramps and dog stairs online, but they always show the dog going in the trunk. She deserves to stick her head out the window so I want to find some kind of mobility aid that will let her climb into the backseat. What have you found that works?
