Hey all. Just an average 40-something guy who works a lot and in need of some friendship and conversations in his downtime. I am very open minded to all kinds of topics of conversation. Some things I enjoy are reading, writing, gaming, anime, horror movies, and 80s/90s/00s rock music. Tell me something about you when you send a DM or ask me anything you may be curious about. ☺️

Long story short I watched a fair amount of anime in the early 2000s before it exploded in popularity. After a while I became too busy and kinda lost interest and the drive to find new series to watch. But in the last 2 or 3 years I've been streaming my old favorites and seeking new ones. I've only actually watched maybe two dozen or so animes (and read a handful of manga). But these are my favorites to give you an idea of my taste (which is probably all over the place):

Berserk - By far my absolute favorite in both anime and manga. The mature story and dark fantasy vibe is probably my absolute favorite thematically.

Dragon Ball / Dragon Ball Z - Grew up with DBZ and it's iconic for a reason but it's a hard rewatch because of how long single fights take. But the humor and charm is almost unmatched IMO.

Cowboy Bebop - The blend of comedy and seriousness is fantastic, some of my favorite characters are in this series. Probably the funniest one I've seen as well.

Naruto - I watched this back when it was new in the US (never saw Shippuden however). Actually never finished the original series but I'm working on that now. About halfway through the series. Love the characters and vibe.

Pokemon - Only have seen the Indigo League and a little bit after that. Love the games and world but it might just be too much to catch up on the rest of the series.

Others I've seen and liked: Death Note, My Hero Academia, Inuyasha, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Gantz (only read the manga)

Other notes: I've tried One Piece and I genuinely can't get into it..I know it's a long long series but I can't invest in something I dislike at first hoping it'll get better. The animes I do like grabbed me right from the start. Also, I do have intentions of seeing the other Dragon Ball series super as Super, GT and Kai so no need to mention them.

Anime I've already been recommended and want to look into: Tokyo Ghoul, Full Metal Alchemist, Attack on Titan

EDIT: Thank you all for the recommendations! I have a lot to sort through but I appreciate all the responses! Any recommendations would be nice!
