Can cartridges on an older patch be played on Switch 2 without needing to update?

Sorry for yet another post in this subreddit, I hope that’s okay!! But I was curious to know if anyone’s ever tried playing a game on a new Switch 2 that’s still on a previous patch of the game without needing to update it? Or will it force you to update before playing? I’m curious because I own a couple cartridges of games on previous patches that have glitches you can do as long as you don’t update the game on your Switch, and I was curious to know if it’s the same for the Switch 2 or if it’ll automatically update? (Assuming you don’t already have the updated game data on your console, of course!)

001 Shaymin glitch on Switch 2?

Pretty much what the title says, I’m curious to know if anyone’s tried the 001/002 cartridge Shaymin glitch on a Switch 2 and if it works at all or if it doesn’t lol. I imagine it probably wouldn’t since it’s a new console and all, but I’m still curious to know if anyone’s tried!

Questions about logging into Pokémon Home account on a second Switch/Switch 2 without transferring data

Hello hello!! I posted this on r/NintendoSwitchHelp but I figured I’d post it here too since it’s Pokémon-home related!! I’ve heard that it’s possible to log into your Nintendo and Pokémon Home account from a new Switch/Switch 2 without directly transferring any data, and I had a couple questions about how that would affect the save files and games;

  1. If I log into Pokémon Home on the new console, will the games from both consoles show or only the console I’m playing on? And if games from both consoles show up, will two save files of the same game appear or only one?
  2. If I boot up a Pokémon game onto a new Switch/Switch 2 that I’ve already played through on my original Switch while logged into my Nintendo account, will it be booted up as a new save file or will the data from the previous save on the old console be loaded instead?

Thanks in advance!! :D

Questions about logging into Nintendo account on a new Switch/Switch 2 without transferring data directly from original Switch

  1. If I boot up a game onto a new Switch/Switch 2 that I’ve already played through on my original Switch while logged into my Nintendo account (specifically a Pokémon game), will it be booted up as a new save file or will the data from the previous save on the old console be loaded instead?

  2. If I log into Pokémon Home on the new console, will the games from both consoles show or only the console I’m playing on? And if games from both consoles show up, will two save files of the same game appear or only one?
