I’ve just purchased the above tub. Have question about the ground it’s going on.
I have limited available locations - the best spot is in a corner beside a window (from which I can get power) and is also situated close to my outdoor tap.
The area has been granite stone chippings for a decade or more.. it should be very well compacted.
I levelled it out the best I could, but it wasn’t perfect.
On top of the chippings I put a 12mm ply board, then rubber flat roofing membrane (roll of thick rubber basically)
On top of all that, I’ve got a bunch of interlocking foam square. I have laid them out (pictured) such that they’re 2 layers thick, with the back corner having extra to help bring the level up
QUESTION
Is this dumb? I figure that the foam squares will compress - and that the hot tub should find its own level?
It’s the smallest tub they do.. holding only 670L of water
Just how important is it that the surface level is completely flat? Will this cause major issues?
If the tub lasts me 2-3 years, it’ll have been a worthy investment.
