Soy-Soy discovered the homemade doghouse my husband made Pancake 5 years ago. After I gave him pets he went back into it lol

(I thought there was a sausage emoticon but it gave me a hotdog. We will just have to live with this until I find something better.)

I also made Luna purple. It's a good look. She pulls it off.

I used page 3 of the Material's Collection as reference.

I'm using the 2011 manga release, last time I posted I was using the Naoko Takeuchi Collection. The 2011 release is so cute but the paper pills so bad, it's breaking my heart.

Every night at 9 he gets three meds and every night at 9 I get a pang of guilt from his manipulative ass

*We haven't settled on an official name but Sawyer responds to Soy-Soy so he at least has his nickname picked out.

We thought he was a deaf or hard of hearing because he keeps trying to mark his siblings and when we loudly try to startle him from stopping he DOES NOT FLINCH OR REACT AT ALL but when Sox softly growls at him to get out of his dish he can suddenly hear.

Anybody have any experiences? What does the late stages look like?

Yesterday he had a blood draw at our vet (senior wellness exam) and then got icecream at chickfila. We did not see this coming. He has been his usual spry onery self.

The vet said we could do an overnight IV to see if it helps with the numbers and then do monthly treatments and a special diet or just let him be (basically doggy hospice).

He is 16, we aren't noticing any kidney disease symptoms. He is already on seizure meds, cough meds for his trachea collapse and and a diuretic. I don't know if adding more treatments is going to add any quality to his life.

Sorry for the bummer post. It's been a hell of day.

UPDATE: the pics DID NOT WORK. After I posted that I made the mistake of checking FB and saw my breeder retiring this little dude and HAD TO HAVE HIM. Had to wait two weeks but he is finally here! Meet Sawyer (new name pending?!) He is 11, has zero teeth and is somehow smaller than Pancake!

My husband flew to California and back today and he is finally home with us.

Excuse the beard crunch. He got a beard wash later that day and he now wears a bib at med time to hopefully stop being so messy!
