We are finally installing floors but i’m not sure what’s better orientation to install the second floor flooring.

1. Follow the stairs: Matches the landing, but runs "short-ways" in the hallway.

2. Follow the hallway: Planks run the long way down the hall and loft, but requires a direction change at the top step.

Which would look better?
