I 30M met this girl 26F shortly after a breakup I went thru back in December. We met through a sports league we play in. The first time I met her I got her number, and within a few weeks we went out on a date of sorts, then another the following week.
Around the third date she got a bit flaky, so I just backed off. I’m pretty sure she was talking to another guy, which is fine, tbh I wasn’t totally ready for an actual relationship anyway. It was too soon if I’m being completely honest.
The above took place in mid-late Feb.
In the meantime, her & I started playing pickleball together - often times initiated by her. It seems like she has really come around lately, texting, sending memes on IG, joking in person. The joking is flirty IMO, but who knows.
Another example - two nights ago she cancelled on going to a party with me - again, I didn’t care that much - I’m content just playing sports with her at this point & I was going to the party regardless & just extended her an invite along with a few others. I said “bruh it’s okay if ya don’t wanna go” - she replied “bruh is crazy”. The next day when we were hanging out she called me “buddy” in a joking tone, I then called her “buddy” she replied by saying “I know you like that”.
In our team group chats she never interacts, just texts me directly. Also, one of her friends told me “(the girls name) will be there” when discussing a future event - so, obviously my name was mentioned in conversations I wasn’t aware of.
This more recent stuff has taken place over the last month, it seems like she has come back & is interested but I’m kind of okay just playing sports… but I’m also certain at times she likes me but then I’m like.. does she?
Just not sure if she enjoys the connection or is interested in more. It’s a bit confusing, which is likely my answer.
Thoughts? I’m just going to go about my week normally, if she reaches out that will be my sign to set up a date.
