My personal opinion is that Imu is using advanced technology. Which would also relate to Imu's origin as well. Combining advanced technology with their devil fruit.
The Mechanical Heart - Same temp gauge we've seen with the space pirates in the cover story.
The Steel Bullets - Could possibly relate to Imu not being able to stay outside Pangea Castle for very long.
A long-standing theory of mine is that Imu is from the Moon.
The next detail I want to bring up is from this panel:
"The Rhythm of the Rain Dance" Sounds oddly familiar to the Dance Powder from the Alabasta Arc that was used to make rain.
Kinda a weird connection but my personal opinion is that Vivi just like Shirihoshi is a God reincarnate. Sorry to the Dragon fans but this would make more sense in the plot.
Yes, when Dragon first appeared there was rain and wind but it's more likely he has a different kind of Devil Fruit akin to Marcos Phoenix. A Mythical Zoan that has the ability to control weather.
As for Vivi being the reincarnate of the Rain God I have no evidence off the top of my head. Only speculation around Nefetari Lili and her disappearance. Part of me wants to believe that Imu's normal silhouette is her, but we can't trust silhouettes.
