At a red light today, a car came up behind me and slammed into the back of my car. My head swung forward even though I had my seatbelt on. It was absolutely the fault of the driver behind me.
After catching my breath and making sure I wasn’t seriously injured, I got out of the car intending to ask the driver if she was okay. The moment she locked eyes with me, she was pissed — screaming and yelling, saying she didn’t have any damage on her car and that she was leaving, while pointing her finger at me. Then she proceeded to get back into her car.
I said, “Why are you being so hostile when you hit me and my head swung?” Thank God neither of us got seriously hurt.
I called the cops to report the accident for insurance purposes. While the officer was talking to her, it became apparent that because I was white and the cop was white, she felt “victimized.” She kept saying things like, “Oh yeah, because I’m the Black woman and y’all are white,” and calling me a “white bi**ch,” while continuing to argue and prolong the process.
The cop gave her a ticket because she was at fault for driving too close to me and rear-ending my car while I was stopped at a red light — not because she was Black. Instead of taking responsibility, she kept making it about race and portraying herself as the victim, even though there was no indication that the situation was racially motivated in any way the cop then told her “you hit a car sh**t happens” its got nothing to do with it. I NEED EVERYONES THOUGHTS
