Opinion of Skywalker as Rio?

When I come on Reddit, I genuinely feel like I’m in a parallel universe sometimes - the main Kyunki sub especially with the way people are hyping up Akashdeep Saigal as an actor.

How is he a convincing 20-something when he clearly looks his age, which is above 50? I get acting is subjective and all, but I’m honestly a little shocked at the level of praise.

Manz has single handedly plummeted the trps which is no mean feat.

And before people come for me, this isn’t even meant as personal hate towards him. For me, the casting itself just feels completely unconvincing and takes me out of the story.

What’s also frustrating is the double standard. The same Kyunki sub constantly rips apart actresses accusing them of Botox, bad acting, aging badly, looking “off,” etc. Meanwhile men seem to have it much easier, where people almost go out of their way to praise him even in what feels like an obvious car-wreck casting situation.

That’s honestly why I take a lot of the criticism towards actresses with a pinch of salt now, especially seeing the Sky praise.

And am I really the only one thinking this? Because when I look at Instagram, comments are pouring in by the thousands questioning Rio’s casting too, and there I feel the natural balance restored.

Anyways, genuinely wanted to get a diverse opinion as that sub is like an echo chamber with the same opinions.

Is it just me, or has cinema etiquette gotten way worse?

I don’t remember this being a problem 10 years ago, but lately there’s always someone with their phone screen on during the film. Not just quickly checking the time but full-on scrolling or even filming scenes for social media.

What’s worse is that calling it out doesn’t even work anymore. I’ve had to ask people multiple times to turn their screen off, and they just… don’t. Before, people would at least feel embarrassed and stop.

I’ve tried ignoring it, but once you notice it, it completely ruins the experience. I’ve even complained to staff, who agreed to check in but they never seem to catch it in the moment.

Has anyone else noticed this shift, or am I just getting more sensitive to it? And if you’ve found a way to deal with it without ruining your own night, I’m all ears.

Or am I being draconian in demanding phones completely off, I'm always made out as the evil one, in the wrong, judging from some indignant stares.

So, on my 2nd watch, I noticed 2 squabbling parrots agitated with one another, 1 red, 1 blue, appearing right before Major Iqbal and Brig. Jehangir introduction.

They appear again when Modi is seen sworn in, pecking away at each other.

During the climax, right after Jehangir taunts his son for the last time and his death, there only remains 1 parrot.

Loved this detailing representing both the characters, it signifies how both are just "decorated" braggarts, colourful but rioting amongst each other, and propped up by only themselves.

With Jehangir parroting his achievements and both focused on display rather than substance.

Seriously great writing and visual metaphor.
