Question

Can I say no to being in another department for half a shift? I start at noon tomorrow for a department I don’t want to work in and didn’t apply for. I’m aware they could just take those hours away from but I do not care lol so can I tell them “ no im good. I’ll come in at 5 when I’m actually scheduled for that department.” Want to know how to handle this, thanks

Started a couple months ago as a second job, and it’s okay. I have 12 years in retail so I’m not new to it at all but still new to Lowes. I’ve been told that for part timers they would NEVER schedule you to do a close to open and work you over 5 days in a row. This week I have a close to open and it’s also in the middle of working 7 days in a row with no day off. At my last job I’d suck it up cuz I was the lead manager and got paid more than everyone else, so I didn’t mind. But where I’m at currently they DO NOT pay me enough to do this. Any suggestions?

If you can manage to get stuff on sale that’s your best bet. The trucks were 20% off, and the wheels were 25% I believe. if you just go with a blank deck then you’re golden. You pay for the name most of the time, so I always recommend moose blanks if you’re on a budget and a beginner. If you have the extra couple bucks on decent hardware, that’s what’s gonna improve your skating most, not a fancy looking deck. Hope this helps someone 👍
