Trace leukocytes in urine
Has anyone found a connection between their vasovagal syncope diagnosis and abnormal urine test results? I noticed recently, while going over my daughter’s medical records from her hospital stay, that her urine test came back abnormal. More specifically, it was for “trace leukocytes”. I do remember one of the nurses asking if she was on or getting off her period, my daughter said “I think I’m starting” and they blew it off. Turns out, she didn’t start, not that day and not for another 2 weeks, actually. I found it odd, especially because this was the second time this had come up. Previously during one of her annual checkups they had also mentioned finding traces of blood in her urine. They re-did the test but I never heard back on the results and, truthfully, I never followed up either. I should have, I just assumed they’d call if they found something concerning. I did ask the nurse at the hospital about it but she said “I’m sure it’s nothing” and that was that. She didn’t mention the test results at all, but after reading the medical records, I wish I had known it was about that. She has an appt with an endocrinologist in a couple of months, they’re still sort of trying to find what could have triggered her episodes, so I know they’ll be running their own tests, but I want to bring this issue with her urine test up to her pediatrician and see what they’d recommend. Curious though to see if this could be connected, somehow, or just be completely unrelated. Worth mentioning she’s never complained about any burning, pain, or issues that would point to a UTI, but neither has anything related to her kidneys. Like I said, might not be related at all, but thought I’d ask in case this was a connection, somehow?
